Bright, Energetic, Articulate Artist Assistant Sought for
Award Winning Public Art Studio.
Besonderheiten
Assist in NYC creative, multidisciplinary studio with a
focus on light as an art medium in the civic realm. Light
Projects creates artworks and lighting design internationally
for architecture, infrastructure and parks. You will report
directly to the principal, Leni Schwendinger.
You will brainstorm and develop site-specific concepts for installations with the artist. You must have the ability to synthesize ideas from varied sources through precedents, and with direction from the artist; diagram and illustrate ideas. Also, you will work with, and research, varied sculptural materials, archive past work, and assist on publications.
Additionally you will coordinate marketing efforts to fulfill Requests for Proposals and public art registries - communicating with curators and art consultants. Some PA tasks required, such as travel coordination, letter writing and note-taking.
Skills: Research, hand sketching, model building, graphic design and experience in media arts or theatre a plus. Computer software: Microsoft Office, Photoshop, Illustrator at minimum.
Art or design school graduate preferred. Full or part time will be considered.
