"With the opening of the DigitalART Gallery in 1996 in Frankfurt/Main the Rödermark company Videor Technical has made its goal to call attention to the position of artists that work in the new media sector and deal with digital forms of communication and art. The opening of the gallery was initiated by Ernst Hartig, art lover and company founder of Videor Technical, a company that has become an industry leader in video technology since its establishment in 1975.

Besides changing exhibitions, DigitalART also engages itself in the international digital art competition that is being held since 1997, the digital new art award (dna award).On the one hand, this means an additional opportunity to suppoert artists and provide them with a forum; on the other hand, the viewing of the submitted works gives the gallery a chance to immediately take up the latest digital positions. This way, the art competition should als be seen as an ideal supplement to the exhibition activities.
Since October April 1999 DigitalART is a member of the association "Landesverband Galerien in Hessen und Rheinland-Pfalz". There is also a very close contact to the Zentrum für Kunst- und Medientechnologie (ZKM) in Karlsruhe."
