”Born in 1969 in Germany, Grischa studied photography in Berlin, where his final year there coincided with the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989.

This drew him eastward and into features photography. In the following years he documented the changes in Eastern Europe. Grant money enabled him to photograph the struggle for independence in the Baltic countries in August 91 and the ensuing disintegration of the Soviet Union.

The newly established Russian Federation then became a central part of his work as a features photographer. His originally planned 6 months in Russia turned into 6 years, during which he covered various subjects from daily life in Siberia to the war in Chechnya.

In 1996, Grischa joined RAPHO, a French photo agency, which distributes his work worldwide. In 1997 he moved to Hong Kong where he works as a photographer in the Asia Pacific region specializing in people, features and interior photography.

Grischa also gives seminars and training in digital photography to Sony Asia Pacific Marketing managers.”
